Why can’t we exclude a subscription or a folder from appearing in the “All Items” section?
Why would you want to do this anyway?
Well you might not want to read all your feeds straight away. I have a number of outlets on the web that I subscribe to and place in their own folder. Call it an ego folder or vanity folder if you want. It’s the place for me to quickly check what I’ve been doing.
Before someone says FriendFeed, I’ve already tried that and the user interface is completely different to Reader. I want to quickly scan a list of unread items with their dates on it. FriendFeed doesn’t let me see unread items.
Anyway, through the week I check Reader daily and quickly star the articles I want and skip the rest. It would be great to mark all items as read without marking those feeds that you would like to check on a weekly or monthly basis.
This really comes into play if your accessing Reader on a mobile device, when the page load times are less snappy than the connection you have on your laptop or desktop computer.
